This policy explains what personal data I collect through chenellefraserart.com, why I collect it, and how I look after it. I am Chenelle Fraser, an artist based in the Netherlands, and I am responsible for your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). What I collect
I only collect the information you choose to send me, plus the basic technical information every website receives.
- Contact page form: your name, email address, the type of enquiry and your message.
- Wedding date requests: your name, email address, phone number (optional), wedding date, venue, venue town or city and any notes you add.
- Get in touch form (site footer): your name and email address.
- Technical information: like any website, the server and the services listed below may process your IP address, browser type, device and the pages you visit.
Why I use your data, and the legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote or booking, for example for a commission, wedding painting, print or original. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, or performing a contract with you.
- To carry out and keep records of bookings, commissions and sales. Legal basis: performing our contract, and my legal obligation to keep financial records.
- To reply to general questions that are not about a booking or purchase. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in answering messages sent to me.
- To protect the website and its forms from spam and abuse. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.
- To understand how visitors use the website (website statistics). Legal basis: your consent, where cookies are used for this.
I do not sell your data, I do not use it for automated decision-making, and I will not add you to a mailing list without asking you first.
Services that help run this website
I use a few trusted service providers. They process data on my behalf or as independent providers, and only as needed to provide their service.
- Hosting: the website is hosted by Bluehost.
- Email: messages sent through the forms are delivered to my email account, provided by Google (Gmail).
- Spam protection: the forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a real person is using the form. Turnstile is provided by Cloudflare, Inc. and its use is subject to the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and the Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
- Website statistics: I may use Google Analytics to understand, in general terms, how visitors find and use the site. Analytics cookies are only used with your consent.
- Fonts: some fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and shares your IP address with Google.
- Social media: links to my social media pages only share data with those platforms if you click them.
Data transfers outside the EU
Some of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies
Cookies are small files saved by your browser. This site uses functional cookies needed for spam protection and, for site administrators, to log in to WordPress. Analytics cookies are only placed with your consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
How long I keep your data
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking or sale: deleted within 12 months of our last contact.
- Bookings, commissions and sales: kept for as long as needed to carry out the work, and invoices and related records for 7 years, as required by Dutch tax law.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how I use it, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. Where I rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email me at chenellefraserart@gmail.com. I will reply within one month.
If you are not happy with how I have handled your data, please contact me first. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Keeping your data safe
I take appropriate steps to protect your data, including a secure (HTTPS) connection and spam protection on all forms. No website or email system can be completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as payment details through the forms.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time, for example if I start using a new service. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
